10,000 Photographs - 10,000 Stories. A Hunter Image
Hunter Volunteer Centre would like to thank everybody that has donated visual and written material to the project "10,000 Photographs - 10,000 Stories. A Hunter Image". If you have not yet contributed, there is still time and the members that send us images and texts will go into a lucky draw for one of six bottles of wine.
In order to recognise and thank the region's 120,000 volunteers for their time and commitment, HVC took the National Volunteer Week as an opportunity to launch a campaign that has culminated in this event, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers Plus 10 by displaying our region's verve in images and stories.
The gathered material will be featured in mini-exhibitions to be held in the Hunter from 5 December 2011 (International Volunteer Day).
The project will be compiled into a regional Photo Album and Storybook, to be used as part of a NSW record for volunteering. The stories will then be presented to the State and Federal Governments.
If you are unable to take pictures and write stories, but want to be part of this initiative, Hunter Volunteer Centre will help by going to you. All you need to do is express your interest in having us at your organisation to take photos and listen to your experiences.
If you wish to submit stories and/or images to the project, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (02) 4940 0077 for more information.
